Paleolithic age is divided into 3 parts
1. Lower paleolithic- Tools of this period were fairly large core tools mad up of hard rocks. These were relatively simple tools like chopper, hand axes and cleavers.
2. Middle paleolithic- The stone tools remain the same in this period but there was a gradual change. The flake tools were smaller and lighter. This allowed to access large variety of food sources.Sharp and pointed stone flakes were grafted on wooden shafts to make spears. Harpoon were made up of bones.
3. Upper paleolithic- There was a further improvement in tool making. They made parallel sides blade. Burins were increasingly used for carving bones and antlers.
