ALUM IS A SUBSTANCE WHICH IS USED IN THE PROCESS OF SEDIMENTATION IT INCREASE THE RATE OF SEDIMENTATION. SO, THE PROCESS BECAME FASTER


ALUM PARTICLES MIXED WITH THE particles of sand and make them heavier. so, the process time decreases.

Alum is a double sulphate formed from aluminium and some other element (esp. an alkali metal) or of aluminium. It has twenty-four molecules of water of crystallization.
