what do you mean by average speed how is it determined from distance time graph

If a body is moving in a non-uniform motion,then we cannot take the uniform speed of it.So,in that case,we take the average speed of it.Average speed is the speed of the moving object in the different intervals of time.
By a distance-time graph,we can find out the average speed of the moving body.It also helps us to find if the body is in rest.
