there are three different railway gauges in india

1)broad gauge which is 1.676meter broad
2)metre gauge which is 1metre wide
3)narrow gauge which is 0.762-0.610meter..

there is a table given on page number 85of geography book or i should say that's given in the chapter lifelines of the national economy.
