What is circular motion?

Circular motion
The motion of a body in a circular path around a fixed point or a fixed axis is known as circular motion.

Circular motion is of two types:
1. Revolution
2.Rotation

Revolution
If the body moves as a whole around in a circular path, the motion is known as revolution.
Eg. The motion of the Earth around the Sun.

Rotation
If the body turns without shifting its position from one place to another, its motion is called rotation.
Eg. A spinning top.
