The cross-linking of polymer exchange leads to a net-work structure. So, the cross linked polymers are also called network polymers. The cross linked polymers are hard, rigid and brittle. In this type of structure the opposite side chains are linked.
Example - Bakelite, Melamine-formaldehyde, resins are cross linked polymers.
