The phenomenon which involves the conversion of a land into desert is termed as desertification.

The affected area looses it's wildlife and becomes poor in terms of Flora and fauna. The water bodies may dry out.

Consequences.

• Rate of pollution increases .

• Occurance of any famine and natural disasters Ultimately leading to poverty

• Infertility of soil.

• Climatic change (high rise in temperature , loss of rain).

• Extinction of species .
