this world are possessed by the lure of money. The opening two lines point to this.
‘Money is our madness, our vast collective madness
And if the multitude is mad’.

It is thought that by restoring his sense of money, man might get over his anxiety of a money-obsessed culture. People treat those without money with a great deal of disdain and humiliation because they believe that a man's value is determined by how much money he or she possesses. If we don't get our minds back, we'll end up killing each other. Money Madness is a razor-sharp examination of the materialistic, consumerist culture of today. People today are willing to put their morality and even their sanity on the line in the race to amass more money. People will start killing one another if the unchecked lust for money persists.
Thus, in reality, though, receiving the right care and medication is the only way to reclaim your sanity.
