A dialog box is a movable window on the computer screen which is seen when a user selects a menu option. It shows the current status and the options available for a specific feature in the particular program.

It communicates information for example it displays alerts. It is an interactive mode which allows the user to give input for different functions.

The dialog box has a title bar, status area, icon area, panel area, button area, tab area, and a toolbar and menu area which comprises of File, Generate, View, Preview, Refresh buttons. It may also have a Maximize or Normal Size and Help button.
