Gland is an aggregation of cells,specialized to secret or discrete materials not related to their ordinary metabolic needs. ( Definition from Dorland Dictionary)

Usually glands are referred to organs in human body which secrets substances like hormones.

There are 2 types : endocrine and endocrine Exocrine glands secrete their product via DUCT into the blood while Endocrine glands are ductless glands,i.e.,endocrine glands secret their products directly into blood without forming ducts or without having ducts around them.
