what do you mean by gross cropped area

Gross cropped area ( GCA) is an area sown once in particular year or more than once in a particular year. When a crop is sown on a piece of land for twice, the area is counted in twice GCA.

gross cropped area is divided by net sown area. It includes the part of net sown area, which is used for two or three crops of year
