Infrared radiation, sometimes called infrared light, is electromagnetic radiation with longer wavelengths than those of visible light, and is therefore generally invisible to the human eye, although IR at wavelengths up to 1050 nanometers s from specially pulsed lasers can be seen by humans under certain conditions.

* Infrared radiations are radiations which have wavelength more than that of red colour ie. greater than 700 NM & are visible radiation.
* it is nearly one third of the sunlight .
* the important property of infrared is that it heats up the objects that lie in its path.
* transmission of heat takes place in the form of infrared radiations and heat that we feel in the sunlight or from any other heating device is due to the infrared radiation present in it.
