chemical fertilisers may get washed into the water bodies. this know as leaching.

aVishal11: natural process by which water soluble substance (such as calcium, fertilisers, pesticides,) are washed out from soil or wastes. these leachied out chemical (called leachetis) cause pollution of surface and sub -surface water.
