A solid naturally occurring inorganic substance is known as mineral . There are three types of minerals such as igneous , sedimentary and metamorphic.

A mineral is a body produced by the processes of inorganic nature, having usually a definite chemical composition and, if formed under favorable conditions, a certain characteristic atomic structure which is expressed in its crystalline form and other physical properties.
There are types of minerals.
Native elements. eg. Gold, Silver, Mercury, graphite, diamond.
Oxides. eg corundum (incl. sapphire), hematite, spinel.
Hydroxides. eg. Goethite, brucite.
Sulfides. eg. Pyrite, galena, sphalerite.
Sulfates. eg. Baryte, gypsum.
Carbonates. eg. Calcite, magnesite, dolomite.
Phosphates eg. Apatite, monazite.
Halides eg. Fluorite, halite (rock salt).
Silicates (most common).
