Explanation:

IN solution chemistry M simply stands for molar concentration we simply can substitute M by MOLE/LITER or MOLE/DECIMETER CUBE .

so let us take an example :

your mother is making a sharbat for you after you came after playing cricket in scorching sun. your mother did mix some moles lets assume 2 moles of sugar in a glass of one liter of water .as a student of chemistry we know lactose is nothing but

C12H22O11 and 1 mole of sugar is equals to (12*12+1*22+16*11=342) 342 grams of sugar . so your sharbat is a solution. strength of which is 2M Sugar solution .that is (342*2=684) 684 grams of sugar is added .

now here M/20 moles means 1/20 moles of NaOH in a 1 liter solution .

1 mole of NaOH =23+16+1=40 gram of NaoH.

now (1/20)M NaOH =(1/20)MOLE/LITER solution.

(1/20)M NaoH=(1/20) mole NaOH in 1 liter solution .

(1/20)M NaoH=(1/20) *40 gram NaOH in 1 liter solution .

(1/20)M NaoH=2 gram NaOH in 1 liter solution .

hope it helps .

thank you.

Answer:

i think this will be answer to you

Explanation:

one mole of sodium hydroxide is 40gm.

so we can say if we want to prepare 1molarNaOH solution then we need 40 gm of NaOH dissolves in one litre of water .

so it became 1molar of NaOH
