the reaction between acid and base to form salt and water is called neutralisation reaction
the reaction is named as....these two neatrallize each others effect hence the reaction is named as so ....
examples are :
HCl. +NaOH -------> NaCl. +H2O
H2SO4 + Ca(OH)2 --------> CaSO4 +H2O
.....
hope it helps dear.....

When acid and base react with each other to produce salt and water then such reaction is known as neutralisation reaction. For example
NaOH (aq) + HCl (aq) –> NaCl (aq) + H2O (liq)
Ca(OH)2 (aq) + H2SO4 (aq) –> CaSO4(s) + H2O
