Photosynthesis is an intracellular anabolic process in which glucose is synthesized from simple inorganic materials like co2 and water in the presence of sunlight and chrolophyll with the evolution of oxygen as a by-product.

6CO2 + 12 H2O in the presence of sunlight and chrolophyll-a which gives --- C6H12O6 (glucose) + 6H2O + 6O2
