Precipitation reaction :

<> A chemical reaction , substance which is insoluble in water (precipitate) is formed ....then it is called as precipitationreaction...

ex :

AB + CD = AD + CB

Nacl + AgNO3 -------> NaNO3 + Agcl

Here , Agcl is insoluble in water... so, it is a precipitate!
