➡When two reactants in solution react and one or more of the products is insoluble or forms a precipitate, the reaction is called a precipitation reaction. For example, when a solution of iron chloride and ammonium hydroxide are mixed, a brown precipitate of iron hydroxide is formed.

\Large{\underline{\underline{\bf{Solution :}}}}

Precipitation Reaction : It is the reaction in which insoluble substance can be obtained due to exchange of ions. Any reaction that produces a precipitate is called a precipitation reaction. For example ↓

\sf{Na_2 SO_4 + Ba Cl_2 \longrightarrow BaSO_4 + 2NaCl}

The white precipitation of \sf{BaSO_4} is formed by the reaction of \sf{{SO_4}^{2-}} and \sf{Ba^{2+}}. The other product formed is sodium chloride which remains in solution.
