The electrical resistivity of amaterial is also known as its specific electrical resistance. It is a measure of how strongly amaterial opposes the flow of electric current. A definition ofresistivity is the electrical resistance per unit length and per unit of cross-sectional area.

it is a specific resistance which contains into the material.it does not depend on the thickness and length of the conductor but depends on the nature of material and temperature.the resistivity is highest of the insulator and lowest of the metal.but resistivity of alloy, the resistivity of alloy is more than pure Metal and less than insulator.its SI unit is ohm-meter.
