satyagraha was a novel method of mass agitation....it emphasised on the power of truth...it suggested that if the cause was true and if the struggle was against injustice then there was no need if physical force to fight the oppressor. it was started by mahatma gandhi...it was first introduced in 1906 in transvaal in south africa ....while in india it was started in 1917 in champaran bihar..
