According to me, the best way is:

1. Just know what they like and do not keep asking them what they want, si that they wil not be spoilt.
2. Dont restrict them from everything, give them freedom. This way they will not be upset
3. For spoilt children, let them know the value of things.

First of all understand their problem ,talk with them as a friend ,give them solution .explain their future step with examples so they can understand themselves.
