the poet of the poem the snake was confused on the saying of his education and his inner feelings
his education said that if he will not hit the snake signifies him as a coward and he threw a log and hit the snake even though it didn't harm it .
ironically the poet was a coward

8888888: oo man do whatever u want just stop kidding
musaibalum209: ooh shut ur mouth
svthakargad: he was coward
8888888: thats what i am saying he was coward
svthakargad: because he did not listen what his heart said instead he listen to his education which tells to kill the snake though the snake proved to be hramless.
musaibalum209: The poet was neither a coward nor brave. This is because initially he felt honored to see the creature drinking water. There was a sense of humility in his behaviour but there was no fear. Again, later when he decided to kill the snake, it was because of his education and social awareness and not because of any kind of fear.
8888888: and after he regreted for what he had done
musaibalum209: Because he regretted we tell him as coward
