the speakers attitude towards Amanda was rude ad aggressive...although the speaker might say otherwise that he were just concerned for Amanda

Explanation: we ca understad that who ever is ordering Amanda to do her daily chores is very closely related to her like her parent or her guardian

but from the tone of the poem we can understand that not only are they harsh the child by putting in sensitive topics inside Amanda's head as (eg. acne which is natural and nothing to be ashamed of) at such tender age and they constantly cared about their social image  and forced the kid to act according to the social "norms" which should not be done

hence, the speaker was careless and selfish too
