Answer:

Why should we conserve forests and wildlife?

Forests are referred to as the lungs of the Earth. These absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and release oxygen into the atmosphere which we take in while breathing and later it is used for respiration and other processes by our body. They play a vital role in maintaining the clouds and in turn the rainfall pattern, humidity, climate stability, and air quality.

Conservation of forest

We should conserve forests because they are essential for us in the following terms:

Forest provide us with oxygen, they cause rainfall.

Forest prevents soil erosion.

Plants are dependent on animals and birds for their pollination and seed dispersal.

Forests provide us with various medicines.

Various forest products are used as raw materials in industries.

Conservation of wildlife

Wildlife is the part and parcel of the ecosystem. They play a major role in maintaining the ecological balance. Some animals also help in cleaning the environment. We have to conserve the wildlife due to following reasons

They are the consistent element of the nature

Ecological balance is maintained by these wildlife community

Some species are extinct and some are in the urge of extinction

Endangered species must be protected

Wildlife have the equal rights to stay on this planet

Wildlife sanctuaries, National parks and Biosphere are the three types of protected area which have been earmarked for the conservation of forest and wildlife. To conserve and protect the wildlife we have various wildlife sanctuaries, national park and bio reserves. The purpose of National parks in our country is to conserve and protect the endangered species. To maintain the ecological balance and also to give the shelter to the endemic species.

National park, Wildlife sanctuaries, Biospheres

The purpose of establishing several Biosphere Reserve, Wildlife Sanctuaries and National Parks in India to conserve and protect the endangered species. To maintain the ecological balance and also to give the shelter to the endemic species.

National Park

National parks are areas that aim to protect the natural environment.

In a national park, the landscapes and its flora and fauna are present in their natural state. Some of the national parks located in India are: Bandipur National Park in Karnataka, Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh

Wildlife Sanctuaries

An area where the animals are protected and preserved is called wildlife sanctuary.

There are no fixed boundaries in wildlife sanctuaries. Few wildlife sanctuaries located in India are: Periyar wildlife sanctuaries in Kerala, Govind wildlife sanctuaries in Uttarakhand, Gir National Park and wildlife sanctuaries in Gujarat.

Biosphere

Biosphere reserves are areas that protected from human intervention. These areas help in the conservation of endangered species.

The biosphere is defined as the global ecological system consisting of all the living organisms and these are protected from human intervention. These help in the protection of endangered species. Example: Niligir biosphere in India.

An area constructed for the conservation of biodiversity is called the biosphere. The adequate habitat and protection are provided for each and every species residing there. Example: Niligir biosphere

Satpura National park marks a historical importance

The objects of historical importance called Rock Shelters are found inside the Satpura National Park. This rock shelter is the evidence of prehistoric human life in the Jungle they give us an idea of the life of the primitive people who live in this area long ago.
