The "minimum necessary level" in my locality are:
- There is no single answer to this question as it depends on a variety of factors, including the size and population of a locality, the level of economic development present there, and the priorities that local government officials may have.
- In general, however, individuals who live in low-income communities would benefit the most from additional nutrition assistance benefits because these communities are more likely to face nutritional challenges such as high poverty rates, food insecurity, and limited access to grocery stores with nutritious foods.
- To determine how many people in your community would benefit from an increase in nutrition assistance benefits, you could conduct a survey of local residents. You may also want to find out if the local community is aware of the current level of nutrition assistance benefits available in your area and whether people in the community are aware of (and have access to) services such as SNAP and WIC.
- If these are services that most people are not aware of and/or do not have access to, your local government may consider raising awareness of these services through educational campaigns or other efforts to increase community awareness. Finally, you may want to talk to your elected officials about increasing the nutrition assistance benefits available to residents in your community.
