What do you think would happen if the seeds are not sown at the correct depth in the soil?

So yes, there is a “too deep” for a seed to be planted. Generally the larger seeds have more energy inside on which to grow and can be planted at greater depth. The limiting factor will be whether or not the photosynthetic portion of the plant reaches sunlight before the stored energy component runs out
