English is a language that is learned and spoken internationally and is characterized not only by the number of its native and second language speakers. English acts as a "de facto lingua franca", a common language that enables people from diverse backgrounds and ethnicity to communicate on a more or less equitable basis.

English is the nearest thing there has ever been to a global language. Its world wide reach is anything greater than anything achieved historically by Latin or French. In the fields of business, academics, science, computing, education, transportation, politics and entertainment. The main difference between Indian and Global English is the pronunciation . For E.g. schedule as skedule, route as raut, vitamin as vaitamin.
