Poverty is a situation where a person fails to attain the minimum basic needs such as food, clothing, housing, health, education etc.
Poverty in India is widespread due various reasons :
1) historical reasons, the policies of the colonial government ruined traditional handicrafts and discouraged development of industries like textiles.
2)huge income inequalities.
3)lack of job opportunities.
