Rule of law means that all are equal before the law. The president of the country and ordinary citizens get the same protection of the law. It makes no distinction between the rich and the poor, or the educated and uneducated. It also ensures that there is no one above the law. However, powerful a person may be, she/he is bound by the law of the country. The rule of law also provides protection to individuals against social evils such as untouchability, child marriage and other form of government.
