Latent heat of fusion : It is defined as the amount of heat energy released or absorbed when the solid converted to liquid at atmospheric pressure at its melting point.

Latent heat is an energy released or absorbed by a body or a thermodynamic system , during a constant temperature process.

An example is a state of matter change , meaning a phase transition, such as melting or boiling of water .
