what do you understand by the term modern period? when Is it said to have begun in the history of India

from the 15 centuary onwords I think we would say modern period..because through out that the world began to revolutionized in various fields industrial ,medicinal ....so on. This was happened because of the revolution in science its discoveries and applications.
also we can see religious reformation and transformations.
