Weathering is basically a simple natural process of breaking of rocks and soils.

Types of weathering :-

1. Biological weathering - it's a type of weathering where living beings affect it. Like large roots if trees can break down soil and rocks etc.

Chemical weathering - this type of weathering is caused by chemical reactions. acid rains are responsible for this type of weathering.

Another type of weathering is when liquid (water) seeps in the cracks of rocks and then freezes inside them, it causes breaking of rock. this is also known as physical weathering.
