what does a gas exert pressure?

gases have a very loose intermolecular attraction.due to that ,the particles are not very tightly packed.so that they continuosly move with large force. thats why gases exert more pressure.  moreover ,large intermolecular spaces help for the movement.
due to bombardment of particles, gases exert pressure on the containers they are kept in.
