Hitler wanted all the Jews , gyspies , etc to be killed and wanted Germany to be a homogeneous country. As anne was a Jew so they had to go to a hiding place to save themselves from going to the concentration camps. As they can’t move or roam around freely or as they can’t do whatever they liked that’s why Anne said that ‘they took our nationality’
