Article 370 of the India Constitution deals with the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. This article provides autonomous status to the state of jammu and Kashmir.
During the time of partition, provinces were given the choice to join any of the two countries. J&k accepted to join India with a few amendments in the Constitution. They were given the privilege to have their own Constitution and most of the matters ( except defence, finance and other diplomatic matters) are under the control of the state government.
