what does chlorophyll do

akritinandy: For a question such as this, it would be best if you specified the class/grade for which you need the answer. The definition of Chlorophyll keeps getting complicated with each successive class/grade.

Chlorophyll is the term used for green pigments that are found in Chloroplasts inside plants. This pigment helps the plant in absorbing energy from the light (essentially sunlight) in order to perform photosynthesis (process of making food). It is also responsible for the green colour of plants.
I hope this helps.
