Here, the people used to gather at one place and take the decisions collectively after a thorough discussion amongst themselves. The administration was done directly by the people. But today after the growth of widespread population it is not possible to gather at one place and run the government with collective decision making process. So the indirect form of democracy has been adopted where the representatives of the people run the government and take decisions for others.
