Direct democracy or pure democracy is a form of democracy in which people decide on policy initiatives directly. This differs from the majority of most currently established democracies, which are representative democraciesDirect democracy is a form of government that was practised in the ancient times. Here, the people used to gather at one place and take the decisions collectively after a thorough discussion amongst themselves. The administration was done directly by the people. But today after the growth of widespread population it is not possible to gather at one place and run the government with collective decision making process. So the indirect form of democracy has been adopted where the representatives of the people run the government and take decisions for others.
