Answer:

DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is a double helix molecule made up of long chains of nucleotides.

Nucleotides are joined with each other with the help of phospho-di-ester bond.

A nucleotide consists of a deoxyribose sugar, a phosphate group, and a nitrogenous base (adenine, cytosine, tyrosine,  or guanine).  Sugar and phosphate group make the backbone of the DNA whereas as nitrogenous bases are involved in the formation of base-pairs.

A gene is a functional unit of heredity. It can also be defined as the segment of DNA which codes for a particular molecule.

DNA is present as chromatin fiber in non-diving cells. It is formed with the help of nucleosomes.
