What does gaston mean when he says that he has earned one hundred thousand francs and a CAROT for himself ? (what is a carot?)

Carrot was the name of the painter who had painted the picture that hung on the villa's wall. When selling the villa, Juliette had at first asked to keep the painting due to some sentimental reasons. Gaston, however, asks to keep the painting after selling the villa to Mrs Al Smith, thus he earned the painting and a hundred thousand francs as profit from selling the villa.
