Concentration gradient can be defined as the movement of higher number of particles (solute) to the lower number of particles (solvent). They are separated with a permeable membrane. For an instance, if an individual dissolve sugar into the glass of water. Thus, water can be assumed as solute and sugar can be considered as solvent.
