Possibly, the above line "It is better to be warrior in the Garden, than to be Gardener in the war" means that one should be truly belonging to his/her profession, the field in which he/she is a master. As one without gardening techniques, can't look after the garden. Similarly, one without war techniques and skill can't fight a war. In conclusion, one must be in the field he/she is good at.
