what does it mean when your ankle is swollen and at first it hurt sometime and now hurts a lot does anybody have any suggestions

In what I know of, It surprisingly means you have kidney disease, If not, it can be a sign of a blockage vein in your legs. You probably have edema if this happens to you more often.
