✔Mrs Amelia Slater was in mourning because her old grandfather , Mr.Abel Merry weather had passed away { which was just an assumption } . So, they could not manage complete mourning dresses in that hurry . So they were in half mourning outfits .

mrs slater mean that her sister was very greedy and always think about only father things (able) and not thought about her father and mrs slater Thought when I said her that our father was deid then she immediately come here in colourful clothes .
