This expression from ‘Ranga’s
Marriage’ means wandering here and there aimlessly like a mangy dog. This expression
was used by Gundabhatta, the village doctor to anyone who would ask him whether
he had gone to England. The phrase ‘flea-pestered’ means a dog who is very
dirty and full of fleas.
