Brother Neto,
Paloma mia, corazon.
I had to write
and call you by the fondest names
the way Blacks of the Diaspora do
to greet a comrade, banish pain. . .

Hey there!
In this line, the author tells about her grandmother. Her grandmother was wearing the clothes of white color. She was looking like that she is being covered by a immaculate snow. Her sonnets which cannot be heard were demulcent for the winter. The author felt to look at her grandmother because her grandmother was giving him a feeling of pleasure and satisfaction. He was full of happiness and peace. So, like this feeling came to the mind of one's individual when he/she see the winter landscape. As it gives the feeling of peace and satisfaction.
Hope it helps you!
