D. H. LAWRENCE DESPISED REGRETLY BECAUSE HE FELT BAD AT WILLING TO KILL THE SNAKE. FOR HIM THE SNAKE WAS AN HONOURED GUEST BUT HE THREW A LOG OF WOOD TO KILL HIM. THIS WAS NOT DESIRABLE ON HIS PART AS HE LATER THOUGHT. SO, HE REGRET FOR THROWING A LOG OF WOOD
