The poet has compared the life of a brook with that of a man. It explains that just as a brook encounters several situations and takes many things along with it along its journey and still continues its journey. Man should have the same attitude. Here it is said that men are ephemeral and may not live forever but a brook's life is eternal. It keeps flowing.

the poet wants to convey that the brook's life is similar to that of humans life. as the brook's carries a lot of material with it humans also carry a lot of relationships with them. the only difference between life of brook and that of human is that humans r mortal b room is eternal.
