Pop sound indicates the burning of hydrogen with oxygen.
While, any other gases like Nitrogen, carbon dioxide don't burn with oxygen, thus no pop sound will be produced.

Hydrogen burns with a pop sound because hydrogen gas is highly inflammable that burns like an explosion.
