I believe this the poem where poet's mother get bitten by a scorpion . The word 'more' here signifies more than one thing.
Just a mere incident of getting bitten by a scorpio is looked down by the people's superstitious belief that the woman did wrongs, this was her punishment .
The word more is repeated again and again to show that more people are gathering around her and blaming her , instead of providing her real help.
Maybe here 'more' represents their relying more on negative perspective. .
